What it is
DOT violations cover the public way in front of and around your building — defective or trip-hazard sidewalk flags, work in the roadway, street openings, and permit conditions attached to that work. Sidewalk violations in particular catch owners off guard, because the city holds the adjoining property owner responsible for maintaining that sidewalk.
